The Ecosciences Precinct will be located on the 9.5ha Boggo Road Gaol site at Dutton Park, one of the largest undeveloped sites within Brisbane's inner-city. This site is being redeveloped into the Boggo Road Urban Village. The design of the precinct will be of a very high standard that will promote collaboration among scientists and is being developed under the principle of sustainable development.
On completion it will house around 1,000 staff and consist of offices and staff support areas, a cafe, an education centre, workshops, laboratories, insect houses, glasshouses and greenhouses. HASSELL is the Architect for the design of the Ecosciences Precinct and also the complementary Health and Food Sciences Precinct being developed at Coopers Plains, Brisbane. WATPAC Ltd is the Managing Contractor for the Ecosciences Precinct and the Health and Food Sciences Precinct.
