AS3715 - 2002: - Finished to Australian Standard 3715 "Metal Finishing – Thermoset powder coatings for architectural applications of aluminium and aluminium alloys".
The objective of this standard is to list testing procedures and specify performance requirements.
The standard recommends that powder applicators are audited by an accredited third party organization to verify compliance with this Standard in the interest of best practice. The standard refers to the Qualicoat system and the Australian Institute of Surface Finishing as the Qualicoat licensing body.
The AS3715 standard uses references from the British Standard BS 6496, and American, AAMA 2603 and AAMA 2604.
AAMA 2604 - 10: as prepared by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association - "Voluntary Specification, Performance Requirements and Test Procedures for High Performance Organic Coatings on Aluminium Extrusions and Panels"
As with the Australian standard, this is a testing and performance specifying standard. The key reference word is "High Performance" in comparing with AAMA 2605.
AAMA 2605 - 11: as prepared by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association.
"Voluntary Specification, Performance Requirements and Test Procedures for Superior Performing Organic Coatings on Aluminium Extrusions and Panels".
As with the Australian standard, this is a testing and performance specifying standard. The key reference word is "Superior Performing" in comparing with AAMA 2605. Testing is based on a ten year performance criteria and normally require the use of fluoropolymer products to achieve the required performance.
